This blog is all about what it means to find freedom… the freedom that only comes from knowing and following Christ.

In my early life, I was bound up by many things: my own desires, the expectations of others, what I imagined people thought about me, dreams of stardom, (I could go on and on) etc. For years I lived at the mercy of those things that bound me, until one day I had an unexpected encounter with freedom.  This freedom came not through fulfillment of a lifelong dream nor through some self-help book nor through a love relationship with another human nor through reaching some temporary goal… it came through giving my heart away fully and completely to the One who created it.  Despite the fact that I had lived without thought for Him and had behaved in ways that were not pleasing to Him, He offered forgiveness for that and freedom to go forward as a completely new person.  In Him I found the only One to whom I could entrust my life, my desires, my heart because, out of all the people in the world, He loves me most. I don’t have to perform to earn His love; He gives it freely and without reproach. Knowing this gives me the freedom to live life to the fullest. I have surrendered everything in order to gain a freedom that is indescribable and incomparable.  I sought for freedom to do what I wanted to do, but He has given me the ultimate — freedom to BE exactly who He created me to be.
